Obituary for Lawrence F. Sacco Sr.

Lawrence F. Sacco, Sr., 86, of Temple, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Penn State Health St. Joseph. Born October 11, 1932, in Minersville, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Caroline (Cicchini) Sacco. He was married for 38 years to the former Julia A. (Ziegler), who passed in 1999.
A 1949 graduate of Reading Catholic High School, Larry served our nation proudly with the U.S. Army in Korea. Following his honorable discharge, he worked as a Manufacturing Supervisor for Rilsan Polymers, Birdsboro, retiring in 1983. He then worked part-time at the Berks County Courthouse beginning in 2002, last working on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. He was a faithful member of Holy Guardian Angels Parish.
If ever there was a man who loved life, his family and the Lord, it was Larry. From great vacations with his wife and children, to wonderful gatherings and dinners through the years, nothing made Larry happier than to be with his family. And his grandchildren meant the world to him.
He also enjoyed the casinos, and was passionate about “his” Philadelphia Eagles. Larry was extremely outgoing, making friends wherever he went.
Larry is survived by his loving children: daughter Caroline, wife of Russell E. Reber, Jr., Fleetwood; and son Lawrence F. Sacco, Jr., fiancé of Kathleen M. Tokonitz, Muhlenberg. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Christopher and Thomas Reber, and Julia A. Geddio, wife of Michael; and his great grandchildren: Kaley Frantz, Genevieve and Luciana Geddio; as well as his longtime companion Elaine Fick.
He was predeceased by four sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 21 at 11:00am at Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 9:00-10:30am at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 5153 Kutztown Road, Temple.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Larry’s memory may be made to Holy Guardian Angels Regional School at the address above.
