Lee Henry Snyder, 90, of Malvern, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 9, 2022, in the company of his youngest daughter.
Lee was born on October 9, 1931, and raised in Reading, Pennsylvania. He attended Reading High School where he met his love and future wife, Pat. They married while in college at Albright College where he received a B.S degree with honors in Chemistry and Pat received a B.A. in English. While in college, Lee sang, painted, and played tennis.
Lee went on to law school at the University of Michigan where he was on the Law Review and his oldest daughter was born. He met several lifelong friends in Ann Arbor. On February 10, 1958, Lee accepted a position with Morgan, Lewis and Bockius in the Business and Finance and Real Estate Departments. He became Partner on January 1, 1967 and went on to a very successful career until his retirement from the firm nearly 30 years later. A member of the Pennsylvania and Florida Bars, after retirement in 1992, Lee continued to work remotely from Malvern providing legal counsel for more than 20 years to his oldest daughter in her Coral Gables-based Law practice.
Lee and Pat married in Falls Church, Virginia on September 29, 1953, and had a Church wedding at the Greek Orthodox Church in Reading, PA on October 15, 1953. They were happily married for almost 70 years and enjoyed a close family of four daughters, four sons-in-law and six grandchildren. They traveled frequently to the Caribbean and to Europe with friends and relatives and maintained long time friendships from their beginnings in Reading, Michigan, Germantown, and the law firm, including George Mayrosh and Jim Matthews. Lee outlived many of his dear friends, and until recent health concerns, spent time enjoying the beautiful nature views from his home, playing golf at Chester Valley Golf Club and socializing with friends and family in Malvern, England, Scotland, Coral Gables, Naples and Vero Beach, Florida.
Living in Malvern in a house designed by longtime friend architect Bob Powell, Lee loved to travel, was passionate about gourmet cooking and hosted many spectacular dinner parties over the years. Lee inspired many, especially daughters Alix and Tory who become excellent home cooks and JT who is studying cooking professionally. Lee cooked for the family and enjoyed regular dinners at home with his wife, daughters and sons-in-law and grandchildren and was constantly surrounded by family activities. He inspired daughters Leslie and Lynda to go into the legal field. His family was his pride and joy. He had a beautiful voice and loved singing. Lee was also a veteran who served in the Army during the Korean War.
Lee is survived by his loving family, wife Pat Snyder, his four daughters, their spouses and his six grandchildren: Leslie Snyder and Martin Ross, Jessica A. Ross; Lynda Snyder and Andrew Baer; Tory Snyder and George Broseman, Carly Broseman; and Alix Cottrell Anderson and Tom Anderson, Katelyn Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Hailey Cottrell, and John T Cottrell.
