Linda J Cosentino, 76, passed away on Monday, September 5th. She was surrounded by her family at her Wyomissing home when she was reunited in heaven with her father, Charles E Rentschler and mother, Thelma C (Strassburger) Rentschler, of Temple, PA, and her brothers Gerald C Rentschler and Alan L Rentschler. Although we are saddened by the loss of our angel here on earth, we rejoice that God has gained one in heaven. While her song has ended, her melody will reverberate forever in our hearts.
Linda was a loving and supportive wife to her husband of 53 years, Terry S Cosentino, who was blessed with her unconditional love, companionship, and a lifetime of memories. In addition to her husband, Linda is survived by her sister Karen L (Rentschler) Garitee of Temple, PA with whom she enjoyed many daily conversations, activities, laughs, and visits at the family homestead.
Linda lived a rich and full life. She was a member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls before graduating from Muhlenberg High School in 1964. After high school she spent time at a modeling school in Philadelphia before moving back to Berks County to begin her career. She was employed with Temple Apparel, 1964-71, and American Bank, 1981-83, before embarking on her career with UGI Corporation’s Payment Processing Center in 1983. She celebrated her 25th anniversary with UGI before retiring in 2008 and becoming a full-time cat mom. Linda was a faithful member of the St James Lutheran Church in Reading, PA for many years.
She took pleasure in the ordinary, such as shopping, going to bazars with her sister, and relaxing at home with her cat, Abbey. She especially enjoyed walks with her husband, conversations with her sons and spending time with her grandchildren, whether playing games or watching them perform. In all things, Linda brought the extraordinary to the ordinary with the beauty of her soul, her unique personality, and the grace of her presence.
Linda also leaves behind two sons Steven M (“Mikey J”) Cosentino, lifetime companion of Jennifer Deppen of Mohnton, PA and Terry S (“T2”) Cosentino, II, husband to Sara (Richter) of Wyomissing, PA. She always made time to remind her boys how very much she loved them and supported them through the challenges life can bring at times. They will always remember the wisdom of her words and the warmth of her boundless love.
Linda was a loving Noni to her grandchildren Katrina M Olszewski, Skyler M Kline, Demitrio A Cosentino, Adeline M Richter Cosentino, Celia Richter Cosentino, Connar A Melcher, Mackenzie L Melcher and Greyson M Cosentino. They all loved her beyond measure and were her pride and joy as she watched them grow.
Funeral services will be held at Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading on Wednesday, September 14th at 11:00 am, preceded by visitation beginning at 9:30am. She will be laid to rest at the Forest Hills Memorial Park in the Hedge Estate immediately following. In lieu of flowers, contributions in honor of her life and legacy should be made to the ARL of Berks County or Cancer Research Institute.
