Obituary for Linda Flammer

Linda Flammer, 75, of Reading, passed away during the early hours of Monday, January 25, 2021, in the care of Reading Hospital. She was the widow of Robert M. Flammer, Jr., who passed away in March, 2004. Born in Reading, Linda was a daughter of the late Frederic F. and Catherine A. (Kurtz) Imgrund.

Graduating from Wilson High School, Linda received her Secretarial Certification from Reading Business Institute. From 1966 until 1996, Linda worked as a legal secretary for Balmer, Kershner, Mogel, & Speidel Esqs. In 1996 she formed her own business as a companion and caregiver until 2004. From 2005 until her retirement in 2013, Linda worked for the Reading School District as a secretary.

She was a member of the Reading Assembly #33, the International Order of Rainbow Girls, and was a life member of Reading Chapter No. 251 Order of the Eastern Star. In 1963 the Rainbow Girls named her a Worthy Advisor, and in the same year, she became a member of the Grand Cross of Color.

In 2014, Linda started volunteering as an Ombudsman with the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, Berks County Agency on Aging.

Linda is survived by her brother, Richard A. Imgrund, his wife, Carole, two nephews (Alan and James), one great niece (Alexandra), and two great nephews (Jeremy and Brian). In addition to her parents and her husband, Linda was predeceased by her son, Phillip A. Imgrund.
