Obituary for Loretta F Knoll (Garson)
Loretta F. (Garson) Knoll, 93, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, a resident at Phoebe Berks. She was predeceased by Frederick C. Knoll Jr., her husband of 69 years.
Born in Philadelphia, Loretta was the daughter of Joseph J. and Margaret F. (Collins) Garson. She graduated in 1945 from the John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls' High School of Philadelphia.
Loretta was proud of her Irish heritage and had an eye for style and art. Throughout her life, she was passionate about hobbies ranging from hunting, sewing and volunteer work as a founding member of the Owen J. Roberts School District’s Friends of the Arts. She was awarded a commendation from the Governor of PA for her work with senior volunteers at Montgomery County RSVP. She is remembered fondly for her loving nature, strength and resilience.
Left to treasure her memory are her daughters: Merle Knoll of Reading; Melisa Knoll of Adamstown; and Ericka Knoll Dreisbach, wife of Edward Dreisbach, of Macungie. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Eamon Dreisbach and Elias Dreisbach.
Loretta's family asks that any who feel moved to make a donation in her memory do so to Helping Harvest Food Bank, 117 Morgan Dr, Reading, or Mary’s Shelter, 615 Kenhorst Blvd, Reading.
A public memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. at the Phoebe Berks Chapel.
