She graduated from Reading High School, where she excelled as a student. In her youth, Louise loved to horseback ride, write poetry, and sketch portraits. When her mom fell ill, Louise tended to her dutifully.

Louise married Edward Harold Schaeffer on August 23, 1947, and they celebrated 63 years of marriage until his death in 2010.

She was a devoted member of the New Apostolic Church, where she sang in the choir and served as the congregation’s alternate organist. Her quiet, yet steadfast demeanor provided comfort to many souls in need.

Louise is survived by eight children: Edward K, Sherry E. (Klonis), Sandy L., Jestine J. (Stanley), Mary A. (Hetzel), Kathy A. (John Pauley), Louise M. (Portman), and Scott R.; seven grandchildren: Kristina D’Amore, Jason Klonis, Michelle Ebersole, Stacy Owens, Joshua Schaeffer, and Stephanie and Taylor Portman; six great-grandchildren: Veronika and Giovanni D’Amore, Saige Neider, and Channing, Destin, and Marina Ebersole; and four great-great-grandchildren: Isaac and Khloee Townes, Sophia Zohlman, and Jaxon Ebersole.

Louise is also survived by her half-brother, Brooke Manbeck, and first cousin, Joannie Kemp, as well as many, many friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was predeceased by grandson, Ryan (2008).

A memorial service will be held for Louise at New Apostolic Church, 6291 Perkiomen Ave. (Rte. 422), Birdsboro, PA 19508, on Saturday, August 26, 2023. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Fellowship will follow.
