Maria L. (Montes) Greer 73, went to be with the lord, July 28, 2018, in her Exeter Township residence.
She was the beloved wife of Thomas H. Greer, with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Born in Anasco, PR, Maria was the daughter of the late Victor Montes and Nicolasa Santana-Ramos,
She was a graduate of St. Peter's Roman Catholic High School and a parishioner of the church.
Maria was employed as a seamstress at Bird knit in Birdsboro for 15 years. She later was with Dolfin International for 28 years, retiring in 2009 to care for her mother until she passed at the age of 101 in January 2018.
Maria was an avid animal lover. She also enjoyed going to flea markets, casinos, traveling with her son and husband, and sewing. The most important thing to her was her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Victor T. Greer, Exeter Township; two sisters-in-law, Alicia Montez and Catalina Montes, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Maria was predeceased by her three brothers, Raymond A., Christopher, and Nelson Montes.
A viewing will be held Thursday evening, August 2, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc, 739 Penn Ave. West Reading PA 19611.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, August 3, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 322 S 5th Street Reading PA. Entombment to follow at Gethsemane Mausoleum. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements. Condolence may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
