Obituary for Marie A. Saraceni (Petrucelli)

Marie A. (Petrucelli) Saraceni, 90, wife of the late Michael Saraceni, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at the Pottstown Hospital.

Born in Pottstown, Pa, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Josephine (DeMatteo) Petrucelli Sr.

Marie started her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. After starting her family, she was then employed by Dempsey’s Diner, Tabas Hotel, and The Coventry Tea room. She also owned and operated two luncheonettes - Marie’s and Pepe’s - which brought her much pride and joy.

Marie spent some of her younger years dancing the jitterbug, the whip, and the Italian Tarantella, with her friends (to her favorite rock n roller Elvis Presley). She enjoyed spending time with her sisters at the Atlantic City Casinos playing the slot machines. Marie loved walking, gardening, enjoying nature, spending time with her friends, laughing, and watching the Phillies. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed time with all her family.

She was a member of St. Aloysius Church, Pottstown, Pa.

Her love of music, her sense of adventure, and her warm heart endeared her to all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have her in their lives.

In honoring the life of Marie, it's safe to say that she was a true rockstar in every sense of the word. Her fierce spirit, unwavering determination, and strong will earned her a place in many hearts.
