Obituary for Marie Josephine Schoedler
Marie J. Schoedler, 90, of Wernersville, passed away April 4, 2022, in Reading Hospital.
She was the wife of the late John L. Schoedler, Jr., who passed February 24, 2012.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Carmen DiBella and Erina (Louden) DiBella.
Marie was a graduate of Little Flower High School, Philadelphia.
She was employed by the Philadelphia court system, and later by Aetna Life & Casualty, Reading, for seventeen years.
After retirement she remained active volunteering at Mercy Community Crisis Pregnancy Center, tending to her plants and garden, and caring for her beloved cats.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Reading.
Marie is survived by her children: Stephen Polyak, husband of Nicolene Polyak of Churchville, MD; Lisa Polyak, wife of Gita Deane, of Baltimore, MD; Karen Mohr, wife of Robert Mohr, of Mystic, CT; James Polyak, husband of Fani Polyak, of Wyomissing; and Andrew Polyak of West Reading, companion of Mary Kreitz of Shillington, as well as seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Russell DiBella and survived by her sister, Dolores DelGross of Bala Cynwyd.
Her children wish to acknowledge and give thanks for the unwavering dedication to resident care provided by the staff of Phoebe Berks where Marie resided for seven years.
Friends and family may visit Tuesday, April 12, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marie’s memory to Phoebe Berks Health Care Center, 1 Heidelberg Dr., Wernersville, PA 19565 or to Mercy Community Crisis Pregnancy Center, 105 S. 5th St., Reading, PA 19602.
