Obituary for Mary Grace Wiser
Mary Grace Wiser, 89, resident of the Highlands at Wyomissing, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023, in the care of Reading Hospital. She was the loving widow of John Wiser, who passed away in 2004.
Born in Huntingdon, PA, to the late Harry and Dorothy (Foust) Carothers, Mary graduated from Huntingdon High School ’52. As a young woman, she worked as a bank teller before taking a hiatus from the workforce to raise her family. As her children grew older, she took an administrative role at JCPenney catalog desk and later at Viking Pest Control, from where she retired in 1997.
She enjoyed reading and travel as pastimes, and she was a member of the West Lawn Seniors. She was also a big fan of Penn State. However, her deepest commitment was to Atonement Lutheran Church where Mary was a very active member for over 50 years.
Left to treasure Mary’s memory are her children, Michael J. Wiser (Gregory Boisvert) of Los Angeles, CA, and Sandra R. Castle (Robert) of Wyomissing. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joseph Palumbo (Carla) and Jennifer Palumbo (Logan Cyr), and great grandchildren, Cutler Madonna, and Graden and Juniper Cyr. In addition to her husband, Mary was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Leffard and Ethel Gerhart.

Services for Mary will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Atonement Lutheran Church, 5 Wyomissing Blvd, Wyomissing, PA 19610, with committal to follow at Berks Co. Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the start of services. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, is entrusted with arrangements.
