Maryhelen "Bunny" (Weist) McDermott, 76, passed away in Tower Health Reading Hospital on Friday, February 28, 2020. She was the beloved wife of David M. McDermott of Shillington.

Born in Philadelphia on October 2, 1943, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary (Lovett) Weist.

Maryhelen worked as a customer service representative for the former Raylon Corp. for 30 years until retirement. She enjoyed trips to the beach but above all, she was a loving and caring grandmother whose grandchildren meant everything to her.

In addition to her husband of 56 years, David Michael McDermott; Maryhelen is survived by her three children, Michael D. and his wife, Debra (Sauer) McDermott of Wernersville, Stacey A. (McDermott), wife of the late Robert Karmonick of Shillington and Kelly L. (McDermott) and her husband, Frank Ferrandino of Wyomissing and six grandchildren: Robert Karmonick, Jr., Cecelia McDermott, Margaret Ferrandino, Christian Ferrandino, Owen McDermott and Samantha Karmonick.

Service will be private and at the convenience of the family.
