Obituary for MaryJane Howe

MaryJane Howe, 82, formerly of Reading, passed away Friday, April 23,2021. She was the loving widow of Russell R. Howe, who passed away in 1995.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late George and Ruth (Logan) Mongrain. She graduated from Reading High School in 1956. MaryJane worked in a variety of rolls for the former Bell Telephone, now Verizon.

MaryJane was a dedicated member of the Telephone Pioneers, previously serving as a past president. She especially enjoyed volunteering with the Pioneers for the Special Olympics at Indiantown Gap. She also served as a Treasurer of Bellco Federal Credit Union. MaryJane loved to read and do crossword puzzles. In her retirement she enjoyed volleyball and playing cards with her friends. She was a feisty woman who loved her family.

MaryJane's memory will be treasured by her children: Richard Howe (Karen) of Mohrsville; Tammy Sizer (Brian) of Greenetown, with whom MaryJane resided; and Michael R. Howe of Wyomissing (Natalie F. Of Adamstown); her grandchildren: Greta Howe; Rachel Howe; Nicole A. Francis (Jarreau); Michele A. Assetto (Philip); Tara Johnson (Mitchell); Kelly Haney (Patrick); and Victoria Sizer; her great grandchildren: Alexander C. Francis; Nicholas Asetto; Christopher Assetto; Anabella Haney; Priscilla Haney; Miles Johnson; and Quincy Johnson; and her sister Emily McCarthy and brother Clifford G. Mongrain.

In addition to her parents and her husband, MaryJane was predeceased by her brother George L. Mongrain.

In lieu of flowers, MaryJane's family asks that contributions in her memory be offered to the Telephone Pioneers, Pioneers Member Services Center, P.O. Box 758515, Topeka, KS 66675-8515.

Funeral services for MaryJane will be held on Friday morning, April 30, 2021 at 11:00 at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, with burial to follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Tuckerton. Friends and family are invited to view from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
