Obituary for Maximino Guzman Jr.
Maximino (Max) Guzman, Jr., 65, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at the Reading Hospital. Born
in Reading, he was a son of Patricia (Arndt) Guzman and the late Maximino Guzman, Sr. Max was
employed by LION-Elbeco as Quality Control Manager. While living in South Jersey, Max was General
Manager of Harbor Sportswear Inc. located in Hammonton, NJ.
Max was passionate about his work and enjoyed having the opportunity to travel the world. He
especially enjoyed his travels to Vietnam, Thailand, and Mexico. Anyone who knew Max would say to
know him was to love him. He was a man of giving and was kind to all that crossed his path. There was
no shortage of love shared by Max. Above all, Max cherished his children and his family. His constant
quest for a signature cologne and attention to style were staples of his lifestyle.
Max is survived by his mother, Patricia, and leaves us with his treasured children: Jessica Guzman,
Desiree Guzman, Hope Guzman, Max “Magic” Guzman Aviles, Amanda Guzman Aviles, and Michael
Guzman Aviles; three grandchildren: Mia Guzman, Yaxiel Benavides and Lisajeliz Benavides; siblings:
Anthony Guzman (Jasmine) of Florida, Karen Colon (Saul) of Pennsylvania, Jeffrey Guzman of
Pennsylvania, and Raymond Guzman (Janice) of New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his nephew, Matthew Guzman.
Funeral visitation will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. 739
Penn Avenue, West Reading starting at 2:00 p.m. Services will begin at 4:00PM. Committal will be held Monday, May 22, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Laureldale Cemetery, 4631 Pottsville Pike, Reading, PA 19605.
