Medora S. “Dottie” (Selby) Harper, 82, widow of James E. Harper, Sr. of Unionville Road, North Coventry Township, died Monday August 29, 2011 at her residence. Born in Pottstown, PA , she was the daughter of the late Paul and Elsie (Lash) Selby. Mrs. Harper was a Speech Aide for the former Pennhurst State School for ten years. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, North Adams Street Pottstown, PA and had been a member of the Woman United For Christ. She was also a volunteer at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Surviving is a son James E. Harper, Jr. husband of Loretta of Pottstown, PA . Also, three daughters Marjorie Hopewell, Beverly Butler and Marilyn Joy wife of Carlton Gillis, Sr. all of Pottstown, PA . She is also survived by a sister Virginia Cole of Pottstown, PA and nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by three brothers Elwood Selby, Carl Lash and Paul Selby and two sisters Margaret Jackson and Betty Lou Laws. A Memorial Service will be celebrated in Second Baptist Church on Saturday September 17, 2011 at 11 A.M with the Rev. Roland H. Anderson II, pastor officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 A.M. Saturday at the church.
