Obituary for Mikaal Luis Rahiem-Soto

Mikaal Luis Rahiem-Soto, aged one year, two months, and 20 days, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022. He was the beloved and treasured son of Isaiah Rahiem and Elaylee-Anne Soto of Wyomissing.

Mikaal was such a bubbly baby with the sweetest smile that could touch even the coldest hearts. All those that were blessed to meet him spoke on how much of a happy baby he was. One is bound to be in love once laying eyes upon him. His beautiful, long curls were so soft. His long eyelashes and pink lips were so full. And those big, dark brown eyes that you could get lost in.

Mikaal had just learned to walk, he was so ecstatic about that milestone. All he wanted to do was walk and walk, he would just walk in circles and walk back and forth with the biggest smile on his face. Mikaal was just starting to give besos, he would give mama and dada the biggest kisses even on the phone, he would open his mouth and put it on the camera.

His smile and laughter was contagious. He was such a character. He loved to watch and dance along to Miss Rachel and Little Baby Bum. He would even dance while just walking. He loved playing peekaboo and would even play it by himself with a blanket. He loved food, he would cry while watching his food being made and tense his body, just to smile and laugh as soon as he got a bite. He would do a little dance bop when given his snacks. And when he woke in the morning he was so happy, just dancing and swaying in his playpen. Any time daddy would look at him and say "dadaa dadaa," he would repeat. And anytime mommy would tell him "yeaa yeaa," he would repeat it.

He loved getting picked up by his titi and playing with her. He loved going over to see his pop pop and play on the floor with him. Mikaal loved to be chased after. He would look at you, come his way, and smile as his little feet ran away, and when we would catch him and pick him up, he would giggle so loud.

Mikaal’s teachers at Kindercare will remember Mikaal as a sweet little boy who loved everything and was excited to come to school every day. He loved music and dancing, and would always get very excited with the biggest smile when he heard Miss Andrea start clapping, and he would start to clap along. His favorite instrument to play was the maracas. Sometimes, his teachers would add bubbles to their dance parties, and Mikaal would have a blast! He would smile as he danced and the bubbles floated around him. He loved all food, but his favorite lunch was pizza. Miss Ashley, Miss Morgan, Miss Courtney, Miss Elyzah, Miss Victoria, Miss Sam, and Miss Andrea will miss Mikaal very much.

Mikaal was one of the best gifts his family received. The excitement of his coming into the world was highly anticipated and he made it all the worthwhile once he came. His joy radiated onto everyone that crossed his path, from his contagious little laughter to his smile that lit our hearts up. Mikaal enjoyed facetime calls with his godmother as he baby-talked and stared at her through the camera with his bottle in hand. Miles away from New York to Pennsylvania could not alter how much love was poured into his family’s life because of one tiny human. His godmother, Kassie, is honored to have been called his Godmother, to have been trusted with such a little life who carried so much life in himself. She will forever be grateful for the time they shared together and their memories will last a lifetime.

Mikaal, the first born and first grandchild on both sides of the family, will be deeply cherished. He is deeply loved by his mommy and daddy; his grandparents, Edwin Soto, Angeli Simon, Emilse Quinones, Mumin Rahiem and Janet Acevedo; his aunts, Alexandra Torres, Elyahna Soto, Janais Gutierrez, and Zaida Rahiem; his uncles, Luis Vega and Eddie Soto; and his cousins, especially his cousin and godmother, Kassie Ramos. Mikaal joins his great uncle, Eric Soto, and his great grandfather, Luis Acevedo, who passed before him.

Services for Mikaal will be private. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences and memories may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
