Monserrate Castro-Gonzalez, 55, passed away on February 4, 2023 at Penn State Health St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was the fiancé of Evelyn Centeno.

Born in Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Francisco Castro and Ana Lidia Gonzalez. Monserrate was employed as a kitchen worker.

Monserrate was a member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing games on his phone and cleaning his car.

Survivors include his fiancé, Evelyn Centeno, sisters: Iris Castro, Judy Castro, Evelyn Castro, Alicia Castro, and Luz Castro, and brothers: Luis Castro, Ariel Castro, Noel Castro, Francisco Castro Jr., and Raul Castro.

He is predeceased by his brother, Oscar Castro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 13, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Reading, with burial to follow at Laureldale Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading.
