Obituary for Nancy L. Bentz

Nancy L. Bentz, 84, formerly of Wyomissing, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Country Meadows, Allentown. She was the wife of the late James N. Bentz. They shared many wonderful years together until his passing in 2000.

Born in Allentown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Pearl (Miller) Snyder. Nancy graduated from Reading High School in 1955 and the Reading Hospital School of Nursing in 1958. She worked as a nurse at the Reading Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital, the Visiting Nurse Association and for over 20 years as a nurse at West Reading Ophthalmic Associates until her retirement in 1999. Nancy was a dedicated nurse who was passionate about caring for others.

Nancy was a devout Catholic and attended Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading, where she was a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and Bereavement Chair. She is remembered for her calm demeanor and the support she provided to many families during their time of grief.

Survivors include her five children: Robert Bentz (Denise) of Sinking Spring, PA; Beverly Marant (Joseph) of Center Valley, PA; Stephen Bentz (Judy) of Elizabethtown, PA; Cynthia Bergenstock (Robert) of Wyomissing, PA; Deborah Metz (John) of South Plainfield, NJ; 12 grandchildren: Amy Labagh (David) , Darcie Bentz, Bryan Bergenstock (Brittany), Courtney Bentz, Ellyn Hess ( Tyler), Sarah Bergenstock, Emily Bentz, Lindsay Bergenstock, Daniel Marant, Nathan Bentz, Grace Metz, Jamie Metz and two great-grandchildren: Blakelyn Bergenstock and Penny Jo Hess.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading with interment at Gethsemane Cemetery to follow. A viewing will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading.
