Obituary for Patrice M. Parks
Patrice Marcell Parks, 68, of Reading, passed on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at ManorCare Health Services. Some knew her as Sissy but most knew her as Gramps. Born in Camden, NJ at Cooper Hospital on August 12th, 1953 to the late Samuel Parks Sr. and Odell (Peterson) Parks. Patrice graduated from Camden High School. She had three children while living in NJ. She moved to Reading, PA in 1999. She was loved by her family and friends. Always welcomed everyone to her home. If you knew Gramps then you knew all the card games was at her house and you’d get nothing but laughs while sitting at the table with her. There’s a bunch of friends that immediately became family to her because of her loving personality. Gramps was the life of the party! She enjoyed listening to music and dancing. Spending time with her family was basically what she did on a daily basis. She was a true Leo, a Lioness in the jungle. She beat cancer twice. She never lost the fight! Throughout her last days phone calls and visits was what she looked forward to the most. Seeing her kid was so important to her. We can write a book about her but if you knew… then you knew. She’s going to be truly missed and never forgotten.
Gramps leaves behind her children: LaDonna Patrice Ellis, James Donte Parks Sr., and Dionne Cherre Parks; her son in law, Mark Ellis; her grandchildren, Deneen Parks, Derrick Parks, Susan Parks, Erica Parks, Shateria McKinney, Shamyria Parks, Shannay McKinney, Ahsheem Nock, Kahsheerah Nock, Khan Nock Jr., Danasia Wilkins, James Parks Jr., Azaiyah Gooden and Giavonte Parks; her siblings, Gregory E. Parks ad Antionette Parks Quann. She also leaves behind a host of 26 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Patrice was predeceased by her two brothers, Samuel J Parks and Jonathan Parks, and her two grandchildren, Samuel Raymond Parks and Quamire Parks.
Funeral Services for Patrice will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading. Visitation with the family will be Thursday beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Committal will be celebrated privately. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
