Obituary for Paul A. Speece

Paul A. Speece, 89, passed away November 19, 2023, in his Sinking Spring residence.

Joyce L. (Fisher) Speece was fortunate to have a devoted husband for 69 years. Their beautiful journey together began on November 19, 1955, when they exchanged vows and embarked on a lifelong commitment to love and cherish each other.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Carl and Catherine (Spangler) Speece.

He was a 1952 graduate if Wilson High School.

Paul served our nation proudly and valiantly in the US Navy.

A devout Catholic, Paul was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.

Throughout his entire career, he dedicated his expertise as a skilled welder, serving diligently at Grace Mines, Steel Company, and NGK.

Paul found great pleasure in indulging in Bass fishing in various ponds and navigating his boat across the waters, even venturing as far as Canada.

Family and faith were most important to Paul; he loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Kathy L., wife of Brett Strough; his brother, John, husband of Darlene Speece; and his grandson, Joshua, husband of Amy Latshaw.

Paul was predeceased by his brother, Carl Speece, Jr. and his sister, Arlene Young.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 27, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading. Burial will be private.
