Obituary for Philip J. Zember Sr.
Philip J. Zember, Sr., 89, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Reading Hospital and Medical Center in Reading. He was the loving husband of the late Doris (Hoy) Zember.
Born in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Carl and Sophia (Sucidlo) Zember.
Philip graduated from Port Carbon High School, class of 1951. He was a railroad trainman with Conrail for 36 years before his retirement in 1987.
Philip was a founding member of St. Ignatius Loyola RC Church.
He will be lovingly remembered by sons, Philip J. Zember, Jr. of Kenhorst, and Michael D. Zember (husband of Robin) of Denver, PA; daughter Cheryl Hull (wife of Kelly) of Fairfax, VA; nephews, Richard and Robert Zember; brother-in-law, Jay Rinaldo (husband of Mary K), their children, Derek and Dana; and an extended family that cherished his kinship.
In addition to his wife, Doris, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard.
A viewing will be held Thursday, June 23rd, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. 739 Penn Avenue West Reading, PA 19611. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 24th, at 11:00 am at St Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church 2600 St. Albans Dr. West Lawn, PA 19609. Burial at St Anthony's Church Cemetery in Port Carbon, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ignatius of Loyola RC Church.
