Obituary for Randall E. Hinsey Sr.
Randall E. Hinsey, Sr., 79, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Sandra (Long) Hinsey.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Richard E. and Mary Jane (Brisan) Hinsey. Randall graduated from West Reading High School in 1961 and earned his degree in Business Administration from Goldey-Beacom College in 1963. He was employed by the original Vanity Fair Corp, Grafika Printing and most recently as a mail clerk at Sovereign Bank, now Santander. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.
Randall attended Atonement Lutheran Church. He enjoyed Philadelphia sports, especially the Eagles and Phillies. He also loved Wyomissing football. Randall served on the Wyomissing School Board from 1980-1991 and was a West Reading Councilman from 1996-2006. He was also the secretary of Tall Cedars, Neversink Forrest #32, Reading.
Randall is survived by his wife, Sandra, their sons, Randall E. Hinsey (Tanya) of Wyomissing and Steven C. Hinsey (Kristine) of Muhlenberg Twp., three grandchildren: Shelby, Aaron, and Natalie, brothers: Rodney of York; Russell of Muhlenberg Twp.; Raymond of Spring Twp.; and Roger of West Reading; as well as many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Richard and Ronald, and infant daughter.
The funeral service will be held Monday, August 7, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading with interment at Forest Hills Memorial Park to follow. The viewing will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
