Obituary for Robert Henry Uhl
Robert Henry Uhl, 92, of Wyomissing, PA, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023. He was the husband of Donna Rae (Irvine) Uhl (deceased in 2021), with whom he shared a loving marriage since 1955. Robert was the son of George and Ethel Keown Uhl and was born in Glenolden, PA in 1930.
Robert graduated from Drexel University in 1954 with a B.S in Chemical Engineering and enlisted in the US Navy where he served as a Lieutenant. He then continued postgraduate education at the University of Utah and subsequently graduated from Lehigh University in 1968 with a Master’s of Science degree in Metallurgy and Materials Science. He went on to have a 30-year career in materials research and development and production engineering. Robert retired from AT&T in 1989.
Robert is survived by his six children and their spouses: Dr. Lynne Uhl (Robert Bolton), Tracy Jones (Dave Jones), Scott Uhl (Lori (Piatt) Uhl), Hilary Udvari (Emery Udvari), Andrew Uhl (Lynn (Romano) Uhl), and Noelle Gupton (Stephen Gupton); 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
