Obituary for Salvatore Azzarello

Salvatore Azzarello, 86, passed away in his West Reading residence, Thursday, December 24, 2020.

He was the loving husband of Victoria L. (Lisa) Azzarello for 62 years.

Born in Italy, he was the son of the late Antonio and Pasqua (Sacca) Azzarello.

He served in the Italian Army.

Salvatore worked for Berkshire Knitting Mills, was a carpenter for Ferrara Cabinet Shop and retired from Dana Corp. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and spending time with his family. He took great pride in growing figs, zucchini, and tomatoes. He was a skilled craftsman making furniture for family members in his spare time.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Esther, wife of Brian Weidle, Verna Azzarello, and Anthony, husband of Melissa Azzarello. There are four siblings: Orazio, Mimmo, Maria Pollicino; and Giuseppa Pollicino. Seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church 237 Franklin St., Reading, PA 19602 with entombment to follow at Gethsemane Mausoleum. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. 739 Penn Avenue West Reading . Burial will follow at Gethsemane Mausoleum Laureldale . In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Southeastern Hospice 1501 Grundy Lane Bristol, PA 19007 or Holy Rosary Church. Edward J.
