Obituary for Sarah A. Powell
Sarah A. (Williamson) Powell, 82, of Windsor Township, passed away on July 15, 2023, in the home that she was born in 1940; the family home is now owned by her daughter in the Hamburg area.
Born in Hamburg, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Beulah (Williams) Williamson.
She was a 1958 graduate of Hamburg High School.
She was employed by Redner’s Market, Hamburg for 27 years, starting out as a very talented and creative cake decorator and later as a dedicated bakery manager.
Sarah had the artistic ability to transform a simple bottle into an amazing piece of artwork displaying various farm scenes on her glass canvases.
Sarah was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Hamburg.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.
Sarah is survived by two daughters, Lori Pickel and Denise Graeff; one sister, Dorothy Geist; two grandchildren, Mason, husband of Corinne Pickel, and Petra, wife of Tyler Chanis; one great-granddaughter, Aurora; and her beloved Boston Terrier, Myla.
She was predeceased by her sister, Nancy Stewart.
A visitation will be Tuesday, July 25, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Memorial Services to follow at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 40 South 4th Street, Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery, Hamburg. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
