Obituary for Stanley Eugene Michalak
Stanley Eugene Michalak, 90, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022, at Bradford Oaks Nursing Home in Temple Hills, MD. He was the loving husband of Ruth Aschenbrenner Michalak, with whom he shared over 69 years.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Stanley and Anna (Druzd) Michalak. Stanley’s life was defined by service, proudly serving in the US Air Force and US Air Force Reserve for over 30 years in uniform, retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant, and as an Air Force Civilian Industrial Radiographer for over two decades. He also served as a Postal Service employee and a fireman for several years. Stanley was an avid woodworker, and could often be found toiling away in his basement woodshop, crafting fixes for things around the house or fashioning crafts for his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ruth; daughter, Andrea Miner and her husband, John Miner of Polson, Montana; grandchildren: Karen Matthews, James Beall, and David Beall; great grandchildren: Alex Matthews, Owen Matthews, Brooke Beall, Blake Beall, and Briley Beall; and sister, Joan Lubas of Reading.
Services for Stanley will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 12:30 pm at Kuhn Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 5153 Kutztown Road Temple, PA 19560. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home from 11:30 am until the time of service. Entombment will follow at the Chapel of the Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery.
