Obituary for Thomas C. Bowman

Thomas C. Bowman, 50, of Bern Township, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020, in the care of Reading Hospital after complications from surgery. For almost 30 years he was the loving partner of Amy K. Konecny, whom he married in 2011.

Born in Clay Township, he was a son of Clyde and Brenda (Weber) Bowman.

He attended Wilson School District. For 20 years Tom worked in the Maintenance Department for the Borough of Wyomissing, retiring in 2016 due to medical concerns.

Tom was a passionate sports fan who bled Philly green and white and black and orange. He enjoyed antiquing, fishing, and road trips.

In addition to his wife, Amy, and his parents, Tom will be remembered by his sister Susan M. (Bowman) Bushold of Blandon; his adopted brother Jamar A. D. Bowman, of Temple; mother-in-law Ellen W. Konecny of Shillington; sister-in-law, Lorri McMann, wife of Phil, of Bethesda, MD; brother-in-law Matt W. Konecny of Columbia, MO; nephews Zachery Unger and Owen McMann; niece Kirstie Unger. He is also survived by his furbabies—six parrots and his dog, Buddy.

Tom was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Amy Grace and Melvin Weber, his uncle Curtis Weber, and his paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Alice Bowman.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611. Friends and family are invited to view Wednesday October 14, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again Thursday from 9:00 AM until the start of services. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.
