Obituary for Thomas George Impink

Thomas G. Impink, 82, formerly of Reading, PA passed away peacefully at home in Westminster, MD on February 1, 2021. He was predeceased by his wife Virginia R. (Borst) Impink. Born in Reading, he was the son of the Luke J. and Leona C. (Chelius) Impink (both deceased).

He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. Thomas was a member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church in Whitfield before moving to MD to live with family. He worked in the quality control division of Penn Optical for 38 years until his retirement.

A devoted husband and father, Thomas loved his children more than anything. He dedicated much of his life to both his own family and his St. Margaret’s family, where he was a former member. For many years, Thomas ran the CYO program at St. Margaret’s and was also heavily involved in their Boy Scout program.

He is survived by his five children: Alan M. (Tanya) Impink, Perkiomenville, PA; Sandra I. (Andrew) Houen, Ellicott City, MD; Matthew C. (Allyson Ross) Impink, Willards, MD; Sam J. Impink, Westminster, MD; and Mary I. (Brian) Pell, Westminster, MD; seven grandchildren; and one sibling Bernice L. (Impink) Moore, Sinking Spring.

Thomas was predeceased by: three siblings: Louise A. (Impink) (Angstadt) Shipper, Gerald L. Impink, and Joyce L. (Impink) Shannon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at 12:00 p.m.at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, 2810 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, PA 19608, with a viewing at the church from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Burial will be Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Gethsemane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Indian School c/o St. Ignatius Church at the above address. Edward J.
