Obituary for Thomas Walter Slapkowski
Thomas Walter Slapkowski, 76, of Reading, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Hershey Medical Center.
Thomas was born in Reading, PA, to the late Walter and Mary (Palka) Slapkowski on September 27, 1945. Thomas graduated from Reading High School in 1963, where he was an avid baseball player in Reading City leagues. He was last employed by Reading School District until his retirement. Thomas had a fond love for Reading High Football and basketball games, horse racing and hunting. He enjoyed his trips to the casino.
Thomas is survived by his two sons, Travis L. Slapkowski, and Thomas C. Slapkowski, fiancée of Michelle M. Krick; his three grandchildren, Travis, Zara and Allison Slapkowski; his sister, Linda Kochel; and many dear friends, Ted and Jan Laguidara, and Lucy and Steve Pierce.
He was predeceased by his sister, Rose, wife of Reuben Bender.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, March 10, 2022, at 11 a.m. in St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church, 925 Centre Ave., Reading, PA 19601. Burial will be private. Memorial Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the church.
