Obituary for Thomas Byron Walbert III
Thomas B. Walbert III, 78, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023, in the care of Reading Hospital. Born in Allentown he was a son of the late Thomas B. Walbert Jr. and Lucille (Kraft) Walbert.
Thomas graduated from Emmaus High School in 1963 before enlisting in the United States Navy. Thomas served his country honorably during the Vietnam War, last serving on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Viet-Nam Service Medal, and the Republic of Viet-Nam Campaign Medal.
A man who took great enjoyment in his work, Thomas retired in 2014 from Moselem Spring Golf Club where he was responsible for the outside services at the club.
Thomas was a dedicated family man. Even when his health prevented him from venturing out of his residence, he still made sure his children and loved ones knew they were on his mind and that he was supporting them. His family will miss his daily calls.
Left to treasure Thomas's memory are: his Sweetie and best friend, Diane Walbert; children Shawn Seyler of Alsace Township and Jodi Youndt of Shoemakersville; stepsons Scott Seyler of Hamburg and Jamie Seyler of Allenspark, CO; five grandchildren; and his sisters, Sherry Greenawalt and Julie Tovar.
