Marie C. Underkoffler, 93, passed away peacefully March 10, 2014 in her granddaughter, Donna's Sinking Spring residence.

Her husband, Walter A. Underkoffler, died in 1998.

Born November 25, 1920 in Reading she was the daughter of the late Martin and Margaret (Brennan) Potzinger.

Marie was an examiner for the Berkshire Knitting Mills for over 17 years, and then worked for over 20 years at Kaumagraph, New Castle, DE, as an inspector. After retirement, she and Walter moved to Millsboro, DE, and enjoyed the beach.

She was an excellent knitter and crocheter and enjoyed crafting and playing card games with many of her grandchildren. She was always energetic and loved spending time with all of her family and their friends. She will be dearly missed.

Marie is survived by five grandchildren: Donna Gerhart, Gerald Gans, Debra Sweimler, Donald Bortz, and Jill Faust; eleven great-grandchildren: Jeremy, Alicia, Nicholas, Steven, Ashley, Jamie, Shannon, Jessica, Matthew, Jillianna, and Ashley; and thirteen great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her two daughters: Marie L. Bortz, and Barbara A. Mauger; as well as two grandsons: Gary Gans, and David Mauger.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 237 Court St, Reading, PA 19601.
