Obituary for Christopher Carley

Christopher  Carley
Christopher Carley, 92, passed away March 22, 2018, in the Reading Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of Anna S. (Sofianos) Carley who he married in July of 1954.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late George and Olympia (Anthony) Carley.

Christopher was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served as a Yeoman Second Class in WWII.

He was a graduate of Reading High School and graduated from R.A.C.C. with an associate's degree in Business.

Christopher was a member of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church of Reading where he faithfully served behind the altar and was an Ecclesiarch of the church. He was also a Past Worshipful Master of Reading Lodge #549.

Christopher worked with Anna as an owner & operator of Carley's Confectionery for over 50 years. He and Anna volunteered at St. Joseph's Hospital for more than 30 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Crisanne, wife of Scott Bansner, Reading; and several nieces.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 E Wyomissing Blvd, Reading, PA 19611. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. A viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m. in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church at the above address. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
