Charles Gordon Wagner​ ​I, 71, of West Reading, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017, in St. Joseph's Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

He was born on August 17, 1​9​46, in Gordon, PA,​ to the late Gordon A. and Sophia M. (Nagg) Wagner.

He was the husband of Salliann E. (Morenzy) Wagner.

Charles graduated from Reading High School in 1964. He then started working at the Textile Machine Work​s, last ​working at Magnatech International. Soon after starting work, he joined the Marine Corps and served two tours of duty in Vietnam.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children: ​s​on​:​ Charles G. Wagner II (Lesley) and daughters​: Jodi Lynn Wagner and Karie N. Hartman (Harry), all of Reading, PA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, his sister, Yvonne Worth (Leon), and his faithful dog and "pal" Jedi.

He was predeceased by two sisters: Sandy Wagner and Carol Spohn.

He was a member of the Russel M. Butterweck Detachment of the Marine Corps League of which he served as Chaplin for many years. He was also the "Dog Robber" (treasurer) for the Marine Corps League Order of The Devil Dogs.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2017, in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, 19611. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
