Mary S.  Sparagana
Mary S. Sparagana, 84, of Cumru Township, passed away peacefully January 8, 2018 surrounded by her loving family in the Reading Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of James V. Sparagana Jr. with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage this past August.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Sarah (Gatto) Cambria.

Mary was a devoted parishioner of Holy Rosary R. C. Church, Reading and was past president of Rosary society in the church.

She was formerly employed by Berkshire Knitting Mill as a seamer and later worked at Palmer Candy as a candy decorator for 18 years, where she retired in March 1994.

Above all, Mary loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and greatly enjoyed when they would come to visit. She also enjoyed going out to eat with family on Saturday nights and making weekly visits to the hairdresser. Mary also loved vacationing in Aruba with her husband.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her four children, James V. Sparagana III, Shillington; Dianne M. Cwik, widow of Jody Cwik, Reading; Maria C. Gieringer, Kenhorst; and Cynthia S. Delehanty, wife of Mark Delehanty, Blandon. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren Daniel, Jeffrey, Kristin, Lauren, Andrea, Taylor, Caitlin and James, and nine great-grandchildren Haley, Autumn, Dominic, Gracie, Aubrey, Lincoln, Sophie, Liam and Carson.

She was predeceased by her sister Angela Levanti (Cambria).

A viewing will be held Thursday, January 11 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 12, 2018, at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary R. C. Church, 237 Franklin St, Reading, PA 19602, with burial to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. Contributions in honor of Mary can be made to Holy Rosary R. C. Church, at the above address. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
