Obituary for Phyllis G. Zentgraf (Fritzsche)

Phyllis G. (Fritzsche) Zentgraf, 87, formerly of Wyomissing, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 31, 2018, in Phoebe Berks with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late Leo A. Zentgraf who passed away on January 17, 2009. They had just celebrated 60 years of marriage at the time of his passing. Her family takes great comfort in knowing they are now reunited.
Born March 8, 1930 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Willie A. and Ellie (Hoffman) Fritzsche.
A 1948 graduate of Wilson High School, Phyllis worked at R.M. Palmer Company, retiring in 1995. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Parish, West Reading, and loved sewing, baking, and relaxing long walks following a hard day of work. But most of all, Phyllis cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also proud to be recognized by the Berks County Voters Hall of Fame for voting for 50 consecutive years.
Phyllis is survived by three children: Frederick W., husband of Ruth M. Zentgraf, Wyomissing; Deborah Anne, wife of Dennis A. Wisniewski, Mohrsville; and Kathy L., wife of William T. Arnold, Mohnton. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren (plus one more on the way!).
She was predeceased by her sister Gerda Mengel, West Lawn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 in Sacred Heart Church, West Reading, with burial to follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to Mass, from 8:30-9:30 a.m., in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Phyllis’ name to the Sacred Heart Parish Memorial Society, P.O. Box 6217, Reading, PA 19610, or the Animal Rescue League of Berks County at www.berksarl.org/donate.
