Obituary for June A. Yohn (Cummings)
June A. (Cummings) Yohn, 87, formerly of Kenhorst, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 8 in Berks Heim.
Born June 22, 1930 in Reading, June was a daughter of the late James and Violet (Eaches) Cummings.
June was the loving wife of Jardell W. Yohn, Sr., who passed in 2012. Family always came first for June, and she devoted her life to Jardell and raising their children. She especially loved to cook and relished great family dinners. June’s life was also filled with many friends, including those she came to love as her second family.
June is survived by her sons: Paul A. Yohn, husband of Bernadette, Shillington; and Jardell W. Yohn, Jr., husband of Fay, Robesonia; four grandchildren: Christopher, Ian, Kelly, and Doug; three great grandchildren: Molly, Derek, and Lily; and her beloved dog Miriah, all of whom she cherished and will greatly miss her.
Also surviving are her five sisters: Violet Eckert, Grace Raifsnider, Betty Marino, Ruth Pettit and Fern Wolfe.
She was predeceased by three brothers: Franklin, Danny, and Jimmy.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Berks Heim, Dr. High, and Dr. Seeley, for their wonderful care they provided June.
A celebration of June’s life will be celebrated on Friday, April 13, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring. Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in June’s name to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508 or at www.berksarl.org.
