Gabriel “Gabe” Gabrielli, 93, died peacefully at home on May 20, 2018 in Blandon, PA. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Marian (Razzano); his children, Nanette Maturi, Cynthia Autenrieth (Karl), David Gabrielli, Ann Marie Tranquillo (David), and Carol Gabrielli (Vicki Reitenauer); 14 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Alexander and Fabio Gabrielli.

Gabriel was born on February 13, 1925 in Reading to Felice Antonio and Santina (Maccaroni) Gabrielli. Following graduation from Reading High School in 1942, he entered the Marine Corps, serving with the Second Raiders in the Pacific Theater during World War II.

After leaving the Corps, Gabriel worked as a meat cutter for A&P from 1947 until his retirement in 1987, after which he worked part-time at the Shillington Farmers’ Market until 1995.

Gabriel was an active lifelong member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Reading, serving as the president of the choir, secretary of the Holy Name Society, and member of the Knights of Columbus.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 24, at 10 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 237 Franklin St., Reading, with a viewing one hour prior to Mass, from 9-10am at the Church. Burial will follow the Mass at Gethsemane Cemetery.

Gabriel’s family welcomes donations in his name to Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org), or Shriners Hospital for Children, Boston Burn Care Unit (shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/boston).

The family is deeply grateful to the staff of Keystone Villa and Asera Hospice for the outstanding, compassionate care they provided.
