Obituary for Anna Katherine MacNeill (Spotts)

Anna Katherine MacNeill (Spotts)
Anna K. (Spotts) MacNeill, 78 formerly of Sinking Spring, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 27, at Keystone Villa, Douglassville. Born February 1, 1940 in Philadelphia, Anna was a daughter of the late George and Anna (Morris) Spotts. She was married to the late Charles MacNeill, her beloved husband for 53 years before his passing in 2013.

Anna graduated from Kensington High School in Philadelphia, and worked as an insurance underwriter for CNA Insurance in Reading. More than anything, she was a loving wife, and deeply devoted mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters: Anna K. Trojanowski, wife of Jeff, Exeter Township, and Melissa MacNeill; and grandchildren Justin, Taylor and Devon Trojanowski, each of whom will dearly miss their Mom Mom.

Anna is also survived by a sister Margaret, wife of Rey Cioci, Coatesville, a brother George Spotts, Wyncote, three nieces Margaret (Nangle), Rosie Cioci and Renee Cioci, and a nephew George Spotts. She is also survived by Fritz Winne, to whom she was married for three years.

Anna loved bowling, dancing, her beloved pets, and Christmas. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye, and she enjoyed playing pranks on them, attending their various sporting events and cheering them on loudly and proudly, and family backyard barbeques.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 1 at 10:30am at St. Catharine of Siena RC Church, 4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading. Friends may call prior to Mass, from 9:00-10:30am at the Church. Burial will follow Mass at Gethsemane Cemetery.

While flowers are welcome, donations in Anna’s name can also be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, Inc., 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508, www.berksarl.org.
