Richard A.  Bausher
Richard A. Bausher, 92, passed away June 13, 2018, in Phoebe Berks.

He was the beloved husband of Carol A. (Stephens) Bausher.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Earl F. and Emily Bausher.

Richard was a 1943 graduate of Wyomissing High School, a 1950 graduate of Albright College, where he received his Bachelors and a 1953 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he earned his
J. D.

He was also a United States Navy veteran serving during World War II

He was employed by Stevens & Lee as a trial lawyer and was head of litigation for 40 years retiring in 1994.
Richard was the 1986 president of the Berks County Bar Association. Proud of his Native American heritage, he was known by virtually everyone at the Berks' Bar as the "Chief". He also was Solicitor for Borough of Wyomissing and Shillington and was on the Board of Directors for Shillington Savings and Loan Association and Secretary of Board of Trustees of the Children's Home of Reading. Dick was also a member of Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers' Association, Pennsylvania Defense Institute and Defense Research Institute as well as Chandler Lodge No. 227. He also ran for judge in 1976.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Daniel E. P., husband of Deirdre L. Bausher, Wyomissing; and Bruce W. Bausher, Mohnton. He is also survived by his brother, David Y. husband of Michele Bausher, Wyomissing; two grandchildren, Jason R. husband of Kelly Bausher and Matthew L., husband of Emily Bausher; and six great-grandchildren, Braxton, Addison, Delaney, Lincoln, McKinley, and Harrison.

Richard was predeceased by his brother, Theodore C., Wyomissing.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
