Obituary for Joseph William Mountz Sr.

Joseph William Mountz Sr.
Joseph William Mountz, Sr., 78, of West Lawn, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, DE.

He was the beloved husband of Mary (Arnt) Mountz.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late William and Ruth (Yetzer) Mountz. Retired from Reading Housing Authority in 2001.

Joseph was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved spending time at his vacation home in Rehoboth; fishing, boating, and going to the beach. Joseph enjoyed going out to eat and spending time and money at the casinos. He was the type of person that was able to strike up a conversation with a complete stranger to find a common interest. Joseph was a bargain shopper, a handy man, and a jokester. He always looked forward to decorating the house, inside and out, for the holidays. The time he spent at gatherings with his family and friends created memories he treasured forever. He will forever be remembered for his kindness and generosity as he was known for his helping hand. Joseph was a remarkable man, who was loved by many and will be sadly missed.

In addition to his wife Mary, Joseph is survived by his children, Joseph W. Mountz Jr., husband of Antoinette, Daniel Mountz, significant other of Kim Heim, Tricia Bubel, wife of Jim, Shelly Fizz, wife of Michael, and step daughter, Tricia Blessing, wife of John. Grand Children – John Blessing, Allee Blessing, Joey Mountz III, Lindsey Mountz-Reed, Matthew Mountz, Morgan Mountz, Tyler Mountz, Alexandria Cinfici, Zach Bubel, Kasey Bubel, Mackenzie Fizz, Nathan Fizz, and Mike Heim. There are also 3 great grandchildren. Siblings – Judy and Rick Mountz, Joseph was proceeded in death by his sister, Carol (Mountz) Shilling.
