Obituary for Cecilia Kathryn Stabinsky

Cecilia Kathryn Stabinsky
Cecilia K. "Cilcha" Stabinsky, 76, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 in her home in Flying Hills, Reading, PA. She was the daughter of the late Herman and Mary (Zettick) Stabinsky of Minersville, and was born on May 18, 1941 in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville.

Cecilia was a graduate of Minersville High School and St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, Reading, PA, and was a certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at both St. Joseph’s and Reading Hospitals.

She was very proud of her calling as a CRNA, because it was her nature to help others. Cecilia was always there for others, whether it be family, friends, or those who may have just needed a hand. She was generous and caring, sometimes to a fault.

Cecilia was very intelligent and, when it was called for, a very serious and accountable person. But she had a great sense of humor, and was always ready with a quip and a laugh. She “got it.”

Cecilia is survived by her brother Francis and his wife Ann Marie, Clarks Summit, PA, and their four sons: Matthew, his wife Melissa and sons Evan, Alexander and Elias, Scranton, PA; Michael, his wife Shirley and son Daniel, Wayne, PA; Mark, his wife Zoey, Grantsboro, NC; and Gregory, his wife Megan and daughters Lillian, McKenzye and Everleigh, Chester Springs, PA.

She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

God bless you, Cilcha. Rest in Peace.

In accordance with Cecilia’s wishes, there will be no public viewing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 10:00am at her parish church, Church of St. Benedict, 2020 Chestnut Hill Road (Rt. 10), Mohnton, PA. The family will receive friends at the Church from 9:30am until the start of Mass. Interment will follow at St. Matthew the Evangelist’s Cemetery #2, Minersville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to honor Cecilia’s generosity with a donation in her name to the charity of your choice.

Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
