Elwood "Dewey"  Diehm
Elwood "Dewey" Diehm , 91, formerly of Reading, passed away March 15, 2018, in ManorCare, Sinking Spring.

He was the husband of the late Betty M. (DeHart) Diehm with whom he celebrated 35 years of marriage before her passing in 2004.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Elwood and Helen (Beiber) Diehm.

He was a graduate of Reading High School and served his country in the United States Army during WW II.

He was employed by Brown Trailers and later for the United States Postal Service retiring in 1989.

Dewey was a avid Oakland A's, Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State fan. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, taking long walks, socializing with his friends but most importantly he loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.

He is survived by his three children, Robert S., husband of Ann Schwartz, Wernersville; Diane L. (Schwartz) widow of James O'Neil, West Lawn; and Kathy L. (Schwartz), wife of Kim Brautigan, Sinking Spring. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Dewey was predeceased by his three siblings, Franklin "Butch" Diehm, Leroy Diehm and Elenore (Diehm) Noll.

A funeral service will be held Monday, March 19, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading with inurnment to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. A viewing will be held Sunday, March 18, 2018, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions in Elwood's honor may be made to Autism Society, P.O. Box 6683, Wyomissing, PA 19610.
