Obituary for Eric Donald MacKnight Jr.
Eric Donald "Don" MacKnight, Jr., 83, of Bern Township, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018, at Mifflin Center.
He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth J. MacKnight, who he married August 27, 1960.
Born in Melrose, MA, he was the son of the late Eric D., Sr. and Helen (Brennan) MacKnight.
Don was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from June 1952 through June 1956.
He was employed as the supervisor of the bakery at Pathmark for 27 years, retiring in 1997.
Don was a member of Bern United Church of Christ, Bern Twp.
In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his son: Eric D., III, husband of Jeanne Marie MacKnight and their daughter, Devan Olivia MacKnight. One sister ; Marilyn Daniel; one brother: Bruce H. MacKnight, and several nieces and nephews also survive him.
Most of all, Don will be missed by his faithful and furry companion, Cinnamon.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Animal Rescue League of Berks County, Inc., 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508.
