Obituary

Rebecca Louise (Supplee) Lundgren, R.N., M.S.N., died peacefully at home, in her sleep, on December 22, 2020, at the age of 87.

Born on the family farm in Narvon, Pennsylvania to Grant H. and Anna L. (Guest) Supplee, she graduated from Phoenixville High School before attending and graduating from Reading Hospital School of Nursing. After working briefly at Reading Hospital she was a clinical nurse specialist at Wernersville State Hospital for 38 years while continuing her nursing education. She received her Bachelor of Nursing at Lebanon Valley College in 1980 and Master's degree in Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania 1982. After retiring, she continued to volunteer, giving flu shots and providing hospice care.

She is survived by her daughter Anna West, Anna’s husband Ron Horning, her son James Ferner, a sister, Mary Crabtree, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her husband Wayne Lundgren died in 2011. She and Wayne loved to travel and volunteered together at Give Kids the World, in Orlando, Florida. She leaves special friends in Saint Cloud, Florida, and in Wyomissing.

She was also preceded in death by four sisters (Nora Supplee, Margaret Newswanger, Florence Plummer, Alice Whitmyer) and eight brothers (Ernest, David, Thomas, Benjamin, Lawrence, Joseph, Philip, Charles Supplee).

A memorial service is planned for spring or summer 2021. Contributions in her memory may be sent to the Berks Encore Wernersville, 139 Main St Building #5, Wernersville, PA 19565.

dear jim and annie. I am so saddened by the passing of your Mother. She was such a wonderful neighbor and showed so much kindness to myself and my parents. She was always there for us when we needed her. What a great lady she was. I will miss her. My deepest condolence to both of you and your family.
