Obituary for Alan G. Weitzman

Rabbi Alan G. Weitzman, 84, passed away March 26, 2018, at the Highlands of Wyomissing.

Born in Cincinnati, OH, he was the son of the late Isadore and Ella (Lisner) Weitzman.

Alan was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and was ordained in 1960 as a Rabbi from the Hebrew Union College, Cincinnati, OH.

He was a member and Rabbi of Temple Oheb Shalom, Wyomissing. In his later years, he was also the Rabbi of Temple Israel, Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Alan was Director and Founder of Alvernia Seniors College and was one of the founders of The Greater Berks Food Bank, Wyomissing.

He is survived by his two children, Ian H. (Julie) Weitzman, Cherry Hill, NJ; and Ari D. Weitzman Esq. (Jodi Crowther), Harrisburg, PA. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Elijah and Jacob.

Services will be held Thursday, March 29, 2018, at 1 p.m. in the Reform Congregation Oheb Sholom, 555 Warwick Dr, Wyomissing, PA 19610 with burial to follow at Mt. Sinai Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Greater Berks Food Bank, 117 Morgan Dr, Reading, PA 19608. Edward J.
